So we started the day by getting stuck in a French underground parking garage. That was fun. We drove through Bavaria to get to Nürnberg and it was beautiful. There were mountains all over and the hills had vineyards. Still no snow but it looks like it's going to snow on Wednesday when I'm in Marburg. We finally figured out how to plug in the AUX cord so we don't have to listen to Taylor Swift on the radio anymore.
This morning when we were leaving France we saw police everywhere and people were being bused in on huge Greyhound-like buses. It turns out it was 8,000-10,000 Kurds (Middle Eastern ethnic group) going to Strasbourg to protest (not really sure what). The streets were flooded with people holding signs and flags yelling. Needless to say we're glad they waited until Saturday.
We went to the Nürnberg castle but we didn't have time to go to the Nazi Documentation Center, so we really just walked around the town. There isn't much to do here besides that. We did happen to go to a cafe that was called California where they played Mexican music and had American/Mexican food. We also ate at the oldest bratwurst restaurant in the city which opened in 1419. Today felt like the coldest day so far and in the evening it started raining so walking around was pretty miserable.
Nothing too exciting to report today. I do plan on getting into my dad's luggage and coming home on Wednesday.
